In case you missed it, OpenAI finally released the GPT o1 model earlier today. As the company explains, the new model is now faster in reasoning, coding, and writing. The company also announced a Pro model that offers unlimited features as well as even superior performance in many of these areas. Unlike the preview version, you can now attach files for ChatGPT o1 to analyze. We
OpenAI o1 is more concise in its thinking, resulting in faster response times than o1-preview.
Our testing shows that o1 outperforms o1-preview, reducing major errors on difficult real-world questions by 34%.

The most interesting part about today’s announcement was the introduction of GPT o1 Pro. This model thinks longer to give more reliable responses. Compared to the regular o1 version, the pro mode performs better in math, coding, and science questions. Those of you using this model will see a progress bar as thinking will be longer.
Will current paying GPT users get a taste of the pro? It seems Sam Altman is open to the idea next year.
this is a good idea–we are very busy with launches for the rest of the year, but we’ll think about something like this in 2025
